Foursquare Multiply values community learning. We see this expressed in the life of our church planting cohorts that are comprised of other church planter candidates. Our cohorts combine online course and in-person trainings and are broken up into three different sections, the 101,201,and 301. These sections are each specifically designed to address formative issues of missional leadership, character, skills, values and practical church planting knowledge. We believe that you should receive the training and information when it is most practical and beneficial for the formation of your community of faith. We also know that everyone is on a different journey when it comes to planting a church and have benchmarks in between each section to help you receive material when it is most relevant for you.

Online Learning

We use a distance-learning approach for our cohorts. Each cohort consists of a group of church planter candidates and a facilitator of learning, who coaches and provides accountability for your training. The cohort takes place online via Canvas, Foursquare’s online learning platform. Each online training will take place over the course of 10-11 weeks prior to the in-person training. It will be integrated with designated reading materials and reporting, video resources, and discussions.Your commitment to being a trained, Christ-like leader is reflected in the level of time and effort you put into the reading and assignments, and is essential to the success of planting a church.

Training Retreats

Church plant intensive retreats are the culmination of each cohort section. These are held at different locations throughout the West Coast region, and provide training that helps bring together everything you’re learning. These venues allow us to get to know you and the story of your journey with the Lord in person, while also discerning where God is leading you as it pertains to planting a church. The trainings are also a great place for you to connect with other church planters throughout the West Coast. Our time together includes several training sessions, coaching conversations, hands on learning, and free time.
